Holy Week themed Easter Egg Bible Scavenger Hunt

Holy Week themed Easter Egg Bible Scavenger Hunt | scriptureand.blogspot.com
If you have followed me for a few years, you know that I have made several Bible scavenger hunts using Bible verses as clues to lead my kids around our house to a prize. On Easter morning, I put the clues in plastic Easter eggs and use them to lead my kids to their Easter baskets. They look forward to this tradition every year.

This year I created Holy Week resources to teach them the events of each day of the week leading up to Easter. It includes a flap book, a cross foldable, cards, bingo, Bible reading plans, and timelines. So I wanted to tie this year's scavenger hunt in with the Holy Week theme. I picked a verse from each day of Holy Week and used it as a clue. I am excited to see them find the eggs (and their Easter baskets at the end).

I also created an alternate version to be used in a church so that people who are using my Holy Week resources in their church can play too. The home version has the following clues: coats, chairs, fruit, table, towel, water, spices, and Scripture (Bible). For the church version, I replaced the fruit with a baptismal and the spices with a clock. You can mix and match the clues if that works better for you. The clues are also available in KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV, or NASB (sometimes the bold word has been altered to clarify the clue).

To play the scavenger hunt, purchase the Easter Egg Bible Scavenger Hunt on Teachers Pay Teachers. Choose a version and print it out on regular printer paper. Then, place the first clue in an Easter egg and set it somewhere they will see it (maybe on the dining table) or put it aside to give to them on Easter morning. Then, place the second clue in an egg and put it in the location written on the bottom right corner of the clue (a coat closet). Do the same for the rest of the eggs. If you are placing Easter baskets as a prize, place them where you keep your Bibles or put a bookmark in the Bible with the location of their baskets written on it.

One word of caution: if you do this with your kids, they will love it and ask you to do it every year. Thankfully, I have three other Easter egg Bible scavenger hunts that you can use for the next three years. So start a new tradition in your home.
