Bible Verses for How Great Is Our God
Chris Tomlin wrote How Great Is Our God while contemplating Psalm 104 and the greatness and majesty of the Lord. The first verse definitely echoes that psalm, but then expands to some features of God's greatness. It beautifully brings together Old and New Testament truths about our great God.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb
Speaking of Jesus in Revelation 5:4-8 Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; and one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.” And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Chorus:
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Philippians 2:9-11 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. You are worthy of our praise,

Very powerful song. Our God is indeed great. Thank you
ReplyDeleteBiblical and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteScripture is Psalm 31:15 not 30:15
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction! I updated it above.
DeleteI love that Psalm 104:2. Almost all the scriptures, if not all, reveal something about our God. He is even far bigger than he appears from the words in the scripture. Human words are not enough to conceptualize his greatness.
