Bible Reading Chart

Hopefully, you have a plan to read the Bible as we start this upcoming year. I have used many different reading plans. The Bible in a year (both Genesis to Revelation and chronologically), with a little of Psalms and Proverbs each day (or not), a "harmony" of the Gospels, just one book, and topical plans. I have several other shorter reading plans you could use as well.  This year, we decided to encourage my 12-year-old son to read through the Bible and that my husband and I would read with him. We thought that it would be too much pressure to read it through in one year, so we settled on reading one chapter a day.  I made this Bible Reading Chart so we could keep track of what chapters we have read. All you have to do is put an x over the number of each chapter as you read it. That way you can read at your own pace. You don't even have to do them in order. So, print this out here  and start your 2021 with a resolution to read God's Word.

Bible Reading Plans

Click on the links below to get printables for these Bible reading plans. Explore the different perspectives of the four gospels by reading them simultaneously.  Explore the themes about the early church in the book of Acts.   Explore the stories behind the people mentioned in the Faith Hall of Fame in Hebrews 11. Don't see what you are looking for? Try some other Bible reading plans suggested in my post on starting a Bible reading habit .

A Harmony of the Gospels Reading Plan

Image
Are you looking to start a new Bible reading plan with the beginning of the New Year? You could read through the Bible in a year, the book of Acts , or the stories mentioned in Hebrews 11 (the Faith Hall of Fame) . But if you are looking to learn more about Christ, you could always read through a harmony of the gospels.  A harmony of the gospels refers to reading through the gospels chronologically collated into one account. So you basically read the four gospels simultaneously. Harmonies have several uses: you can read the stories chronologically, you can see several different perspectives of the same story, and you can compare different accounts of the same story (and see the purpose behind what is or is not included in each account). Rather than rushing through these 4 books in 30 days, I stretched it out into 90 days. That should give you plenty of time for comparing, contrasting, and finding out what God is telling you about yourself, the world, and Himself.  You...

Hebrews 11 Faith Reading Plan

Image
I just finished reading through Hebrews 11. It's sometimes called the "Faith Hall of Fame." It's basically a list of people and actions that demonstrate faith. So as I read Hebrews 11, I added in the Old Testament account of these stories of faith. You can print out this reading plan below or here . It only takes 45 days and you can understand better what faith is. Here are some things to consider while you are reading: Are the "Faith Hall of Famers" perfect? Do they sin and mess things up? What does faith make them do? What priorities do people of faith have? Look especially for differences between temporal and eternal. Physical and spiritual.  What are some things people gave up because of their faith? Did they have doubts? If so, how did they show that they still had faith? Did they have to wait? What was the benefit of waiting and who benefited? Finally, did you know that you might be in the Faith Hall of Fame too? Verse 3 mentions ever...

Acts Bible Reading Plan and Book Mark

Image
After reading through the entire Bible last year using a reading plan by the Bible Project , I decided to read through Acts more slowly. Here is the reading plan I made which includes some themes to focus on. I also made some bookmarks to mark your Bible page each day and to summarize the keywords and themes.

Starting A Bible Reading Habit

Image
With the new year approaching, you may be looking for a New Year's resolution that will improve your life. You can plan to exercise more, eat less, eat better, or spend less time on your smartphone. However, the most important resolution that you can make for next year is to read your Bible more. Why Read the Bible I could try to convince you why you should read the Bible more, but I think it's best to let it speak for itself. 2 Peter 1:19-21  So we have the prophetic word made more sure, t o which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place , until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.  2 Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousn...
