Ten Commandments Children's Bible Lesson

  Do you need a fun way to teach children the story of God giving Moses the Ten Commandments, what they are, and what their purpose was and is? With hands-on activities, printables, active games, and fun crafts? And multiple ways of processing the Ten Commandments for different types of learners and ages. The activities use shortened versions of the Ten Commandments and symbols to help kids remember them. The same symbols and wording for the shortened commandments are used across all of the activities. The wording I used for the commandments is listed below: No other God No idols  Don’t swear  Rest on Sabbath  Obey parents  Don’t murder  Honor marriage  Don’t steal  Don’t lie  Don’t be jealous This lesson includes links to songs on YouTube and links to printables to be used in the craft. My Favorite Hymns about God's Love

For Valentine's Day, I was going to do a hymn study on a hymn about God's love. God's love is the ultimate example of love.  His loving is giving, sacrificial, and gracious.  Our love can only hope to be a reflection of his agape love. Since I was unable to choose just one hymn, I have decided to share some of my favorites instead. And Can It Be? Bible Scavenger Hunts

We recently had a Sunday School picnic at our house and I needed a large group game.  I wanted to do a scavenger hunt and decided to include Bible clues.  So I used biblestudytools.com (or I could have gotten old school and pulled out my concordance) and searched in the Bible for objects that were in my yard.  I started with door, tree, and table.  Then, I remembered sand, steps, porch, flowers, and even herbs.  Finally, I got a little creative and used "shed" and "mail." To play the game, give the teams their first clue.  They should fill in the blank in the Bible verse.  The word in the blank is where they should go next.  When they get there, they should find the next clue.  They should continue following the clues until they get to the final location.
