A Mighty Fortress is Our God
A Mighty Fortress is Our God is a hymn that was written in 1529 by Martin Luther, a leader in the German Reformation. The original German ("Ein' feste Burg ist unser Gott") is now written on the tower of the Schlosskirche (Castle Church) in Wittenberg where Luther nailed his 95 Theses.

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
