Bible Verses for Jeremy Camp's Same Power

Lately, I have been posting verses on my social media accounts about the power of God. I spent a week on each of these themes:

• Power belongs to God.
• God has the power to save and sanctify.
• Man's power can do nothing compared to God's.
• God's power is tied to the Holy Spirit.
• God gives power to His people.
• God has power for resurrection.

The last topic had me often breaking out in song. I was constantly singing either Chris Tomlin's Resurrection Power or Jeremy Camp's Same Power. What a blessed reminder of God's power these songs are!

The story behind Jeremy Camp's song is encouraging.

Also, the power of Christ's resurrection is in believers through Christ and the Holy Spirit has two main effects:

1. It provides hope for our future physical resurrection. If Christ has been raised, then we who are in Him will also be raised. (1 Cor. 6:14).
2. It enables us to live in godliness now. We are spiritually united with him in his death and resurrection which frees us from sin (Rom. 6:4-7). The power of God (the same power that resurrected Jesus) gives us everything we need to live a life of godliness (2 Pet. 1:2-3).

Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

Ephesians 1:18-20 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Matthew 8:23-27 When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” He *said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Verse 3:
We have hope
That His promises are true

Romans 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

In His strength
There is nothing we can't do

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Yes, we know
There are greater things in store

Hebrews 11:39-40 And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

1 Corinthians 15:57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bridge:
Greater is He that is living in me

1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

He's conquered our enemy

Revelation 17:14 “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

No power of darkness

Colossians 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

1 Peter 2:9 But you are A chosen race, A royal priesthood, A holy nation, A people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

No weapon prevails

*Speaking of Israel in Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

We stand here in victory

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

Ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man

* While Isaiah 54:17 is referring to God saving Israel from their enemies, the principle that God will fulfill His promises to His people holds true for all of God's people.
