Bible Verses for Christ Tomlin's Resurrection Power

Lately, I have been posting verses on my social media accounts about the power of God. I spent a week on each of these themes:

• Power belongs to God.
• God has the power to save and sanctify.
• Man's power can do nothing compared to God's.
• God's power is tied to the Holy Spirit.
• God gives power to His people.
• God has power for resurrection.

The last topic had me often breaking out in song. I was constantly singing either Resurrection Power or Jeremy Camp's Same Power. What a blessed reminder of God's power these songs are!

The resurrection power that Chris Tomlin sings about has two effects on believers:

1. It provides hope for our future physical resurrection. If Christ has been raised, then we who are in Him will also be raised. (1 Cor. 6:14).
2. It enables us to live in godliness now. We are spiritually united with him in his death and resurrection which frees us from sin (Rom. 6:4-7). The power of God (the same power that resurrected Jesus) gives us everything we need to live a life of godliness (2 Pet. 1:2-3).

John 11:43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.”

I see the old has passed away
The new has come!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Verse 2:
That I'm dressed in Your royalty

Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Your Holy Spirit lives in me

2 Timothy 1:14 Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

And I see my past has been redeemed
The new has come!

Colossians 3:13-14 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:18-20 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Romans 6:4-7 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.

Isaiah 2:5 Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

1 John 1:6-7 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
