With the day set aside to celebrate Jesus' resurrection quickly approaching, my mind has been on Jesus' resurrection. First, I copied all of the verses that I could find about it onto a sheet and then I started scribbling notes about all kind of things. Below is the printable Bible study that came out of my study. Through it, you can explore all of the predictions and evidence of Jesus' resurrection, the work of the Trinity in the resurrection, and how the resurrection effects Jesus and believers. 

 If you are interested in a secondary study about Jesus' resurrection, tally how many times each of the different names of Jesus is used when discussing His resurrection. The different names are interesting and some appear more in one section of Scripture (the gospels, Acts, or the epistles) more than others.

 Hopefully, this Bible study will prepare your heart for Resurrection Day. Of course, it's always a good time of year to study Jesus' resurrection. Pay particular attention to the final question (What should we do because He's resurrected?) and to what your response should be to what you learned.

Bible Verses for Joy To The World

Isaac Watts is a hymn writer, well-known as the author of 750 hymns like “ When I Survey The Wondrous Cross ,”  “Alas And Did My Savior Bleed,” and “O God Our Help In Ages Past."  His  “Joy To The World” was first published in 1719. Later, Lowell Mason took lines of music from Handel's Messiah  to compose the tune, Antioch, that is now so familiar. Did you recognize the first notes of “ Lift Up Your Heads ” or possibly “ Glory to God ” as the beginning notes? “And heaven and nature sing” reflects the orchestra in the opening notes of “ Comfort Ye .” The interesting thing about “Joy To The World” is that the song is really more about the Second Advent (Jesus' return to reign) than the First Advent (Jesus birth so He could die for our sins).
