Bible Verses to God Is in Every Tomorrow

As I stated in my last post, I found several songs and poems while going through a box containing my grandfather's funeral guest book from 1972. It still amazes me the strength, faith, and grace of my grandmother enduring her husband's two-year fight with leukemia and then being widowed while in her forties.

This poem was quoted in a letter from my grandfather's mother written to my grandmother, her daughter-in-law. It is from a mother in her grief to a wife in hers. And, since my great-grandfather had died from cancer twelve years earlier, from one widow to another. Two godly women who in their time of grief hung on to their faith that God both is in control and loves them.

Bible Verses for God Is In Every Tomorrow by Laura A. Barter Snow | scriptureand.blogspot.org

This poem, written by Laura A. Barter Snow (1864-1939), is about trusting God even through the difficult times and the unknowns. Laura A. Barter Snow was a Christian poetess. Her most well-known poem is probably "This Is From Me" which is used in the popular devotional, Streams in the Desert.

I had not been familiar with the poem as a song, but apparently there is an arrangement of it written by Paul Orjala. (Again proving that you really can find anything on YouTube.)

In addition, if you want to see the previous song I found in that box, here is my post on The Lord Will Provide by John Newton.

God Is in Every Tomorrow

by Laura A. Barter Snow

God is in every tomorrow,
Therefore I live for today,
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
Psalms 31:15 My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
Certain of finding at sunrise,
Guidance and strength for the day;
Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.
Power for each moment of weakness;
2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
Hope for each moment of pain,
Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him.
Psalms 42:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.
Comfort for every sorrow,
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Sunshine and joy after rain.
Psalms 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.

God is in every tomorrow,
Planning for you and for me;
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Proverbs 19:21 Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the Lord will stand.
E'en in the dark will I follow,
Trust where my eyes cannot see.
2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—
Stilled by His promise of blessing,
Soothed by the touch of His hand,
Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Confident in His protection,
Knowing my life-path is planned.
Proverbs 16:9 The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
Job 42:1-2 Then Job answered the Lord and said, “I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.”

God is in every tomorrow,
Life with its changes may come,
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
He is behind and before me,
Psalms 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.
While in the distance shines Home!
Hebrews 11:13-16 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.
Home, where no thoughts of tomorrow
Ever can shadow my brow,
Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
Home in the presence of Jesus,
Through all eternity now!
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

I'm sure there are more verses that fit with the lines of this hymn.  If you have any to add, please let me know!  I'd love to hear about them.  Also, if you have any hymns or praise songs that you would like me to do, please let me know.
